CASACOR 2025 – Coral House – Colors of the Park

For a decade, the partnership between Mauricio Arruda, creative director of TODOS Arquitetura, and Coral has been coloring stories. It is at this milestone that Casa Coral – COLORS OF THE PARK is born, a 160 m² refuge that embraces nature and celebrates the Brazilian soul in every detail.

The setting, Parque da Água Branca, is a patch of forest in the heart of the city that inspires, welcomes, and colors this project. The house is a poetic translation of Brazilian identity, where the color palette is born from the very flora surrounding the century-old mansion. A living celebration of who we are, in shapes, textures, and above all, pigments extracted from nature.

Under the theme of CASACOR 2025, Sowing Dreams, the project connects sensorially to its surroundings. Curated by Coral and advised by designer Maibe Maroccolo, a specialist in natural pigments, 20 dyeing species were mapped in the park, giving rise to a palette of 60 colors, of which 10 fill the walls of this manifesto house.

The baseboard, dyed in the earthy tone Wood Stove, stitches all the environments together. The dining room receives the color Date; the living room, Canoe Sand; the kitchen, Raftman and Amulet Beige; the bedroom, City View; and the bathroom, Flax. At the portals, a chromatic ballet between Moroccan Purple, Wood Stove, and Deep Ochre.

In the dining room, we adopted a more dramatic palette, reinforced by the selection of furniture and decorative objects that intensify the immersive atmosphere. The original parquet floor, present throughout the house, was carefully restored, preserving its history. The artwork by Manuela Navas reflects the colors of the environment and completes the scene alongside the pair of vases Man and Woman, by the Paraíba artisan Maria José. In the foyer, the combination is between the Cuiabá mirror, by Sergio Rodrigues, and the artwork by Rafael Pereira, represented by Galeria Estação.

Casa Coral – COLORS OF THE PARK is about the Brazil I believe in: multiple, affectionate, inventive. A real, maximalist, creative country passionate about life. A Brazil that reinvents itself with what it has most precious: its nature, its culture, its hands. And that is why none of our stories should ever be told in black and white.

MAURICIO ARRUDA,
PARTNER AT TODOS ARQUITETURA

Bathed in natural light that passes through the large windows of the building, which were also restored during the renovation, the TV room is embraced by a woodcut print by Santídio Pereira, represented by Galeria Estação, and by a 20 m² handwoven sisal rug made in the interior of Ceará especially for this space.

The kitchen harmoniously integrates with the dining nook, in a space where green stands out as the predominant color. It appears on the walls, the countertop, and the backsplash, which gains personality with stripes of Vitória Régia and Paraná marbles, both with a polished finish. The curated selection of objects is exquisite, featuring ceramic pieces by Francisco Brennand, Call Jim, Casa Téo, Noda, and Pair.

The space also houses precious finds collected by Mauricio for Loja MAU, such as the iron and rush chair by Martin Eisler and Carlo Hauner, the table with a stone top, the paintings, and the lamp. Special mention goes to the bird chandelier, a handcrafted piece full of poetry, created by Vavan, an artisan from Ilha do Ferro, and to the 0&0 sculpture by Anderson Borba, represented by the Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel Gallery.

The bedroom features a composition that highlights natural materials and organic shapes. The centerpiece is the wall sculpture by Gabriella Marinho, represented by Galatea Art, made up of rounded ceramic pieces with varnish in different sizes and shades. The furniture, such as the Atlântica armchair with ottoman, a new release by Lider designed by Mauricio Arruda, follows simple lines and a wood finish. The landscaping of the space is by Letícia Bononi.

However, the undeniable star of this bedroom is the vintage bookshelf from Casa Téo, which houses the Xiloteca Literária by Elizandro Rabelo, the marquetry boxes from Loja MAU, and the reissued Dominic lamp from La Lampe. The red Tom chair, by Estúdio Latino de Design, establishes a poetic dialogue with the work of Fernanda Gomes dos Santos and the painting Lavadeiras by Heitor dos Prazeres.

The bathroom is visually playful! The countertop, made of natural Amarelo Macaúba stone, stands out with the Memória mirrors by Um Design Studio, which serve as focal points in the space alongside the Valentin chair, designed by Rafael Gomes. Decorative elements such as the Cabeça de Profeta sculpture by Mestre Nicola, as well as vases and trays, contribute to the organization and personality of the room. The Carnaval wallpaper, created by Bozó Bacamarte and sold at Branco, together with the painting by Francisco da Silva and the photograph Vaqueiro Assis Carrão by Bruno Jungmann, evoke Brazil’s rich cultural heritage.
