PERNAMBUCO APARTMENT

A 206 m² apartment located in the Higienópolis neighborhood of São Paulo was designed for a couple and their two dogs. With a passion for cooking and entertaining, the clients wanted a spacious living area that could host gatherings while also conveying a sense of coziness for moments spent alone.

To meet this request, the project sought to create a feeling of openness through an integrated, multifunctional space, where fluid circulation between rooms and an abundance of natural light became key elements. The flooring — composed of a mix of four different stones combined with mortar and concrete — acts as a guiding element for the layout.

The home’s visual identity was strongly influenced by the couple’s preference for a vibrant color palette and bold color blocks. The kitchen, integrated with the living room, was executed in expressive tones such as blue, which appears in the finishes, custom cabinetry, and paint, creating visual unity. The composition is complemented by stainless steel accessories, including countertops and carts, as well as a shelving unit dedicated to displaying personal objects collected during travels.

The bar area reinforces the apartment’s entertaining vocation, functioning as a support space for both everyday use and special occasions.

Still within the social area, the powder room features a stone that belongs to the clients’ family, which was restored and incorporated into the design, adding emotional value and a sense of memory to the space.

The curation of furniture and objects in the Pernambuco Apartment sought a dialogue between the modernist building and pure forms that reflect the essence of contemporary design

In the private area, the home office gained personality through the presence of a colorful curtain and was complemented by a floating desk, bringing lightness to the room. The bathroom, in shades of pink, was finished with microcement, a material that also clads the countertop.

The master suite, in turn, features hotel-like characteristics — another request from the residents — including green carpeting, a folded paper pendant light, and wooden details, referencing a trip the couple took to Japan. The green hue extends into the bathroom, with Avocado marble flooring and ceramic finishes on the vanity.
