ALMADÁ VILA MADALENA

With 77 m², the Almadá Vila Madalena decorated apartment in São Paulo, designed for Sinco Engenharia, features a compact floor plan that allows for different solutions. In the project, we created a new dynamic by removing the third bedroom, opening space for an integrated social area that brings together the living room, dining room, home office, kitchen, laundry, and powder room. In the private area, two well-designed suites and efficient storage solutions complete the project.

Our main reference was the Vila Madalena neighborhood itself. Characteristic elements of old houses, such as tiles and cobogós, combined with the urban aesthetic of street art, inspired the natural color palette with a focus on textures, as well as the solutions adopted throughout the creative process.

Vila Madalena is one of the most traditional neighborhoods in São Paulo, with a true neighborhood lifestyle: it offers great restaurants, markets, pharmacies, and everything you need for daily life. It also has a highly strategic location, with easy access to different parts of the city and strong connections to the main business centers of the capital.

Upon entering the apartment, residents are greeted by a galley kitchen integrated with the living area, defined by neutral tones, light wood, and natural textures. The selection of objects—such as ceramics, glass jars, and wooden utensils—enhances the curated feel of the space, with black accents in pieces from MAU, Pair, Tok&Stok, and Zara Home. Everything is organized fluidly, connecting the cooking area to the dining table, illuminated by the UFO 550 S pendant from Lumini, which provides indirect light and adds warmth to the environment.

One of the main challenges of the project was to create an integration between the spaces that felt welcoming right from the entrance. To achieve this, we designed a living area connected through materials that flow seamlessly from the kitchen to the living room. Among the focal points of the space are the organic-shaped dining table in Verde Guatemala marble and the Balaio rug, made of cotton and jute.

Another solution is the home office with a built-in glass cabinet. We took advantage of the wide circulation area to create both a workspace and storage, using the depth of the space to embed the cabinet and the floating desk.

The blue headboard is the focal point of the master suite. It connects the bedside tables, organizes the composition, and adds a touch of color without overwhelming the space. To expand storage, we designed a hall with upper and lower cabinets in the same wood finish used throughout the apartment, also incorporating a mirror.

In the children’s suite, the soft palette and modern design create a space that grows with the child. The wardrobe, combining woodwork with perforated metal panels, adds both texture and lightness. Every choice was made to ensure the room works well over time.
